FX Lumber Guard FIRE RETARDANT COATINGS is formulated for interior fireproofing wood, Lumber, Plywood, Reclaimed Wood, OSB, MDF, Trusses, Truss Joists, I-Joists, Trim, Moldings, Doors, Cabinets, Wood Framing, Furniture and many others, pine, oak, fir, birch, red oak, maple, cherry, poplar, walnut, ash, hickory, cedar, red wood, mahogany and much more. FX Lumber Guard fireproofing wood coating will not change the characteristics of wood, lumber or plywood, treating lumber and plywood is economical and environmentally safe, also some insurance companies have been known to approved the use of our products to pass their requirements for insurance renewal.
FX Lumber Guard fireproofing wood coating prevents treated materials from sustaining combustion by penetrating the material and becoming part of its molecular structure, a protective barrier is created to protect the treated material from igniting. Once the treated material is subjected to an extreme heat source (flames, sparks or embers) the protective intumescent barrier is activated, the intumescent barrier prevents combustion of the treated material. Our fire retardant coatings meets the standards of ASTM, NFPA, ULC, UL and UBC and was tested by independent nationally-recognized accredited third party labs in the United States.

FX Lumber Guard’s characteristics are: transparent, odor free, non toxic, non corrosive, non halogenated, stainable, paintable, environmentally safe around plants, animals and children, Chlorine free, Non PBDE’s and Non Bromated Products. Being a water based polymer the fire retardency of the treated wood, lumber or plywood will last indefinitely as long as the treated material is not subjected to high moisture or wet locations.
