FX Lumber Guard XT: Exterior FIRE RETARDANT COATING for fireproofing wood, reclaimed wood, lumber and plywood (pine, cedar, oak, fir, redwood, white wood, etc.), ideas of projects that can be treated are I-Joists, Trusses, T1-11, Pine, Fir, Redwood or Cedar wood siding, Gazebos, Bridges, Railroad Bridges, Decking, Fencing, Cedar Shake Shingles, Trellises, Arbors, Garden Sheds, Cabanas, Lawn Furniture, Attics, Under Patio Covers, Crawl Spaces, Garage Walls, Attics, Grilling Area and other projects, preservative treated (green treated) lumber and plywood may also be treated with FX Lumber Guard XT fire retardant coating.
FX Lumber Guard XT: fire retardant coating for fireproofing wood prevents treated material from sustaining a combustion by creating a protective barrier between the treated material and the heat source (fire, embers or sparks). ASTM E84 Tested for FSI & SGI, one of the only fire retardant coatings on the market submitted to the ASTM D2898 accelerated weathering process.

FX Lumber Guard XT: is the only exterior fire retardant coatings on the market tested for 30 minute ASTM E84 criteria for flame spread index and smoke generation index, test conducted by independent nationally-recognized third party accredited laboratory.
FX Lumber Guard XT: fire retardant coatings for fireproofing wood: Species like White Wood, SPF, Pine and Doug Fir these species of wood are not rot resistant, if you are using one these species that starts to rot or decay, retreating or maintenance will have to be done, power washing or cleaning the material is required for retreating. A wood sealer or paint of some type should be used to protect the wood from rotting, we recommend using a non wax based wood sealer, waterproofing sealer, stain sealer or paint.
Natural rot resistant species of wood are cedar, redwood and oak these species should not require a sealer or top coat unless there is heavy traffic on the material (decking or porch).
FX Lumber Guard XT: is a leach resistant water base in liquid form and insoluble polymer based when dry fire retardant coatings, it becomes part of the characteristics of the wood that is being treated.
The ASTM D2898 is a process not a test, the process is for a simulation of weathering under a controlled environment, actual weather conditions will vary from one area to the next. The retreatment requirements will vary depending on the elements, ambient temperature, wind, rain, snow, foot traffic and so on.
